Hanuman Shikshan Prasarak Mandal’s Late Ramesh Warpudkar Arts, Commerce & Science College Sonpeth, Dist. Parbhani, Maharashtra -431510 ( Affiliated to SRTM University Nanded ) got established in 1993 with the basic purpose of imparting higher education to rural masses in general and girls in particular. In the decade of 1990, the higher educational institutions were in less numbers in rural areas. It resulted in depriving the number of students from higher education. The institution resolved to reach the higher education to the remote parts of the vicinity. Hence “Reaching to the Unreached” has been the very mission of the institution. The institution began its first unit i.e. Late Ramesh Warpudkar Arts and Commerce college, Sonpeth keeping in view the need of people of the area.
Ours is the first and the only unit in Sonpeth Taluka to impart higher education in traditional disciplines. Later on the persistent demand on the part of parents forced us to begin science unit in 2008-09, High School i.e.
Rajabhau Kadam High School at Vita village in 2008, junior college in 2010 and Primary school in 2013.
Now in totality our institution has four units. Our senior unit has two acres of land having its own building. Our college is permanently affiliated to S.R.T.M University, Nanded and it is included under 2(f) and 12(b) of UGC act and receiving various grants under eleventh plan of UGC. The college has completed the first cycle of NAAC Accreditation in February 2015 and awarded with ‘B’ Grade status.
The College has well equipped science laboratories. We provide the facility of gym and other sports equipments for the all round development of students. We also provide Xerox facility to students. For the students who couldn’t continue their education after 10th or 12th, the college has started YCMU’s distance learning centre. Thus through this mode most of the students of the area are being brought in the main channel of higher education. The college is striving to achieve its vision, mission and objectives through its various activities.
The college has student adoption scheme as one of the best practices which supports the economically weak students. Each teacher adopts one such student and supports him/her throughout the degree course. The nature of the support comes in the form of Bus passes, exam fees, admission fees, uniform, books and notebooks etc. Since last six to seven years the enrollment has increased from 191 to 45o which indicates that the institution is gradually achieving its stated objectives. The ratio of the under graduates doing their post graduation has also been increased.
The teaching staff of the college is well qualified and 80% staff possesses Ph. D. Degree as highest educational qualification. All the employees of the college have their own quarters in the campus itself. It helps students to be in touch with their teachers whenever necessary. I appeal all the parents to enroll their children in this college for their better future.
